Tugboat Song:

Our new song this week is a "tugboat song." It teaches the kids about about there voices going "up and down" and how we use the terms "high and low" for pitch, not dynamics.
My Gran left me this book when she moved houses, it's been my "go to book" for kinders this year. It stretches their voices, has the cutest songs, and has really adorable illustrations. I can also use the ukulele on every piece.
I can copy these pages and turn them into an activity, or blow them up and use them as a visual aid.

It's in 3/4 time, which is a nice change a pace for the kinders.

I had the students circle the "highest BOATS they sing." This was a fun activity that used visual, writing, and aural skills.
If time allowed this video helped give an idea of a "tugboat" to the kids.

MAY 12-16

This is a great video for introducing students to the sections of the orchestra. We have been watching parts of it in class just to see the instruments and how they work in "families."
